Private ICDs/CFSs/Off-docks perform three main functions:

• Handling of import containers of selected items (selected 37 low duty import items).
• Handling of all export containers.
• Storing and handling of empty containers.

Import items eligible to be cleared

through private ICDs/Off-docks.

• 37 items of Import Cargo are allowed by

Customs to be un-stuffed in these Off-docks.

• LCL import not allowed in these Off-docks.

Export formalities:

Customs officials stationed at the private ICDs supervise the stuffing of

export goods into containers, and where necessary, conduct physical examination.

Assessment is done at Chittagong Custom House. After completing Stuffing & sealing in

presence of Customs, Off-docks send the export container by their Trailers to Port Terminal

to load on a feeder vessel.

There are two terminals interconnected by a small bridge in between

a. GCB (General Cargo Berths)

b. CCT (Chittagong Container Terminal) & NCT (New Mooring Container Terminal)

• Loading/Unloading performed by using Ship's gear.
• Gearless Container Vessel not permitted.
• Maximum permissible draft is 8.55 M

CCT (Chittagong Container

• 2 allocated for Container Feeder Vessel
• 4 QMGC (Quay Mounted Gantry Crane) Loading/Unloading performed by Ports Gantry Crane.
• Maximum permissible draft is 9.15 M

NCT (New Mooring Container

Terminal)

• 5 Jetties in Total
• 4 Berths available for Container Feeder Vessel.
• No Shore Gantry Cranes.
• Loading/Unloading performed by using Ship's gear.
• Gearless Container Vessel not permitted.
• Maximum permissible draft is 9.15 M
